Install guide
Five minutes, start to finish.
Everything below happens once. After that, Sightline runs quietly under your organization's policy and stays out of your way.
-
Open your invite link
It looks like …/i#invite=slinv_… and comes from your workspace admin. The page greets you by team name and starts the download; the installer it hands you is already bound to your workspace.
-
Run the installer
Open Sightline-Setup….pkg from your Downloads folder and click through the macOS installer. It places Sightline in your Applications folder; macOS may ask for your login password, which is normal for installers.
Handed a bare Sightline.app instead? Drag it into Applications and you're at the same place.
-
Launch Sightline and finish enrollment
Open Sightline from Applications (or click Open Sightline back on your invite page). The app picks up your invite and enrolls this Mac with your workspace on first run.
-
Approve the macOS permission prompts
Sightline walks you through three permissions, one screen at a time, and each one says exactly what it is for: Screen Recording (observing the allowlisted apps), Accessibility (reading on-screen structure instead of guessing from pixels), and Microphone (used only during detected meetings — the mic stays off otherwise).
Need to find them later? System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording (called Screen & System Audio Recording on newer macOS), Accessibility, and Microphone. Whatever you approve, Sightline still only captures apps on your organization's allowlist, during the hours it sets.
-
Done
That's the whole setup. The app shows the active policy (which apps, which hours) whenever you want to check it.
